One Three Zero
Dir. Paul PagliaPaul and I first met after I called him in response to a flyer he'd posted seeking a composer for his indie short. We met for coffee and seemed to hit it off. His film, based on Shakespeare's 130th sonnet, was a drama told in the modern world about a nightclub dancer who gets murdered. The film, a short though it may be, called for an eclectic assortment of music ranging from the dark orchestral main titles to ambience-filled chase music to a light jazzy swing. The music was completed in the spring of 2004. For budgetary reasons the score was done completely with MIDI. The samples presented here are the "pre-titles," a short sound-design cue to play over the initial shot, and the "main titles."
